Machine Head este o trupă americană de heavy metal din Oakland, California. Trupa a fost formată în 1991 de vocalistul/chitaristul Robb Flynn, care este singurul membru fondator prezent și acum în formație.
MACHINE HEAD a fost descrisă ca formație de metal groove, thrash metal, nu metal și metal alternativ. Formatia a fost influențată de trupe thrash metal din California precum Metallica, Exodus, Slayer și Testament, trupe tradiționale de heavy metal precum Iron Maiden, trupe de thrash crossover precum Suicidal Tendencies și Cro-Mags, trupe groove metal precum Pantera, Exhorder și Fear Factory și trupe grunge precum Nirvana, Soundgarden și Alice in Chains.
