There is hardly any genre that the Germans have not experimented with. From technical death, to black, industrial, symphonic and gothic, the deepest, darkest abysses of metal have been thoroughly mapped.
Each of the band’s 8 albums has its own identity and marks an important moment in the evolution of Atrocity. Its members are also part of another group called Leaves’ Eyes, where they play symphonic metal together with Liv Kristine, Alexander Krull’s wife.
The fact that the musicians are able to render their skills useful in such versatile manners proves that they are masters of their craft and are able to work with different genres, without creating any sort of discrepancy.
Atrocity has always been critics’ poster-child for good change. Atrocity is quoted to prove that it is possible to put out something different each time, without getting caught in the error of re-releasing your previous work, only under a different name.
„There are critics who always object to the stylistic uniformity of new releases by old bands. They should use the example provided by Atrocity – a band that always releases something new and original, not allowing for the repetition of passé, ‘been there, done that’ tunes. None of their albums sound alike”, says MetalUnderground.com.
2013 marks the release of „Okkult”, the bands newest effort. The album quickly becomes the critics’ favorite and receives stellar reviews.
Atrocity will arrive in Bucharest for the first time on October 25th, 2013. The band will officially release „Okkult” at this year’s edition of Maximum Rock Festival.
