MAXIMUM ROCK FESTIVAL returns in 2013 with an INDOOR edition which will take place on the 25th and 26th of October, at Turbohalle, Bucharest.
In the two days of the event, both Romanian and foreign bands will take to the stage.
Apart from concerts, there will also be other activities, like a fair with rock products, from which the participants will be able to buy T-shirts, magazines and other accessories.
After MY DYING BRIDE, THE 69 EYES, ATROCITY, a new band confirmed for MAXIMUM ROCK FESTIVAL 2013 is LEAVES’ EYES. The band will perform for the first time in Bucharest on October the 26th 2013.
LEAVES’ EYES is one of the most important bands in contemporary metal and it has created an epic legacy. Liv Kristine, the group’s beautiful and charismatic lead-singer has always been credited for the emergence of symphonic/ gothic metal by critics and fans alike.
Her previous band, Theater of Tragedy, was one of the first to use the formula of the operatic female voice in conjunction with pure metal to achieve a transgressive result. Their sonic cocktail later became a recipe for success for many bands.
Liv left ToT in 2003 and, together with her husband, Alexander Krull, the frontman of Atrocity, founded Leaves’ Eyes, with the help of the other band members of the much-loved German band, who ended up playing in two different bands, with different vocalists.
Leaves’ Eyes had everything it needed to succeed: a fine group of musicians, each reputed in their field, a fascinating vocalist, considered to this day one of the most beautiful women in metal, and amazing songs.
Critics were quick to name the band a “super-group” because of the instrument players’ reputation as metal virtuosos, and Liv’s career as one of the creators of female-fronted metal.
In 2004, Leaves’ Eyes releases its first effort, “Lovelorn”, a masterpiece which receives good reviews. The band has put out a total of 4 records, and 2013 marks the release of their 5th – “Symphonies of the Night”.
These symphonies shall be heard in Romania too, as Leaves’ Eyes will play a show here in 2013, as part of this year’s edition of Maximum Rock Festival, the most important rock/metal event of the fall in Romania.
