Their unique style results from combining rock elements with metal and diverse musical horizons, like Romanian folklore, funk, electro, dubsteb, alternative and reggae. So far, the band released two albums and the third one appeared in February 2013.
Dirty Shirt was born in 1995 in Seini, Maramures and gained rapid popularity on the local metal scene. Many concerts followed and many important prizes were awarded: Samfest, Samus Rock Posada, Young Rock, Metalfan, Rock Constellations and many more events were greeted with the presence of Dirty Shirt.
1998 marks the release of “Very Dirty”, the band’s very first record, which is received with open arms by both critics and fans alike. After a break lasting a few years, 2004 sees the return of Dirty Shirt, who have, by this point, diversified their style, concocting a recipe formed of a mixture of folklore, funk and electro.
After touring the world and taking part in important European festivals, Dirty Shirt releases in 2010 its second album – “Same Shirt, Different Day”. The material is recorded at Kallaghan Studios in France. After this release, the band enters its most busy period, playing over 50 concerts in Romania, Hungary and Germany.
“Freak Show”, the third album, sees the light of day in February 2013 and receives only positive reviews from prestigious magazines like “Rock Hard”, “Hard Rock Mag” and “Metal Hammer”. Summer of 2013 is very intense for the boys, who play gigs and take part in many festivals.
In September 2013, the boys will play a 9 date tour in Germany, Belgium and France, and in October they will greet Maximum Rock Festival with a very special performance. See you on the 26th!
